Helix Glass Studio is based in Crowthorne, Berkshire, UK specialising in the use of glass in jewellery and traditional leaded panels.
The owner and designer, Helena Ross says "I have always been interested in colour and light, and from an early age had been fascinated by the special atmosphere generated in cathedrals from the way colour spilled into the spaces from stained glass. This inspiration lead me to study stained glass at Swansea Institute in 2001-4, and to the realisation that modern stained glass can be used very effectively in homes, public spaces and commercial offices to provide a focal point for the people using them. I hope that my work will also inspire the same fascination that set me working in this medium.
My jewellery is aimed to providing small pieces of wearable art with the same fascination of colour and light. It is driven by the discovery of unusual textures, colours and patterns, and my pieces try to combine multiple layers of glass that have a life of their own"
